Well I only did it on the way back here whilst he was driving. There's no reception for cell phones in the Cotswolds - hence my eldest daughter phoning up where we were staying and just saying "I want to speak to my mum please" She didn't even give them my name - they had to go round knocking on peoples doors to find out who had a D called Kathryn and after all that she called because she couldn't work out how to turn the telly on in my bedroom!!!! Hardly life or death!!! H and I were in stitches laughing about it!!
The rooms in the place were great but all of them had low ceilings and beams. H nearly knocked himself out a couple of times!!! Saffie

That is too funny. Both the phone call and the low ceilings. I guess people were substantially shorter 500 years ago! What height were the ceilings? That sounds like torture to me if you are too tall for the room!
I guess the ceilings were about 6'6" but the beams came down and the doorways were probably only 5'9". I was ok as I am only 5'4" and the old folks were ok as they stooped!!!!! It was the tall upstanding guys that had the problems!! The room floors bowed from age as well - it was great!!! You would love it - you must come over!!!
Gotta go and get the kids from school and then go muck out.
Chat later!!

I know I would love to visit. But I have to get a passport first, and it's gotten difficult to get one in America. Long lines I hear. I'll have to look into it. The sooner I start, the sooner I'll have one.
Just thought I'd stop by the sandbox and say hello. Saffie, I don't post much here, but I do stop by to read. So glad to hear that you had a good time. How wonderful!
Have a good day everyone. I need to shake the sand out of my shoes so I can go back to work for a little while!

I just noticed last night that the swimming pool thread locked. But with the sandbox and the playhouse going, I don't know if we need a third playspot. May open it later. The water stays pretty warm here for another month. Then I might have to start heating the pool.
Sara, I checked the pool earlier to drop and say hi, but noticed the gate was locked.
I've already closed my pool down. We have problems with leaves getting in it if we don't cover it soon after school starting back. No one ever uses it then because everyone is so busy.
