alk24 since you are from AL, do you have a heavy country accent which is significantly different than a TX accent?
No, I don't have a country accent..just very southern and most def. different from a TX accent. I had someone describe it as an "educated" southern accent, if that makes any sense.
C- you went to Vancouver???? Awww, man! I have a really good friend who lives there. I wish I could go see her, I've never been to Canada.

People with accents never think they have accents... I'd bet if you came way up north here, we'd think you had an accent!
Nah, been to NY and Boston fro trade shows recently, repeatedly get surprised, raised eyebrows when i tell folks where I'm from. I've a bit of a southern cadence to my speach and some colloquialisms, but accent is slight to non-existent (unless I'm drinking with a bunch of southerners, comes out a bit more then ) BD

Born in CA, no accent, moved to NY (Westchester County, no real accents but NY'ers definitely talk faster) then back to CA and then to TX.
The thing about Texans (other than Nomo) is that they kind of lul you into thinking they are not as smart cuz they talk slower, but watch out, BAM, the person will be super bright and make you feel like an idiot!
East Texas, sorry, not good. Too twangy.
West TX, slower drawl.
South, who knows, mostly hispanic.
Dallas, not much, just fashion concious
Houston, similar to Dallas.
Austin, crunchy.
