OK, GD, I know what you look like--and your wife is an IDIOT!!

My H's chest hair was just in the middle, then a ring-around-the-nipple. Kept getting caught in my teeth (too much info? sorry...)

I agree on the waxing when buff--otherwise you will look like a pre-pubescent. That's why I leave a bit, trimmed and for decor, down there, after waxing. And if you thought the chest and back hurt...

Don't do the tanning bed, especially if you are still pink and sore. The spray-on tan should work very well, and it is much quicker. You have to go back about every week, but you would do that with the tanning bed, all while increasing risks of skin cancer and real burns. Nothing is ickier than peeling--looks like leprosy.

Let me know if you want a review on Walden online for the classes. And way to go on the waxing!!

So GD, will you keep going back to get waxed? Not sure if they still have something called Nair out there. If you like what you see then Nair could be used for maintenance. Just careful where you put it as it does something like burn the hair off. It is a cream that you just put on, leave on for like 5-10 minutes then just wipe away the hair.

If you thought waxing was bad, you should have tried the torture device they put out years ago called the Epilady. It was a turning spring and ripped the hair out but could only get like 1 or 2 at a time.

I like a little chest hair and my H only had hair at the very bottom of his back which I didn't mind. I liked his hackles and used to joke that if he got mad if they stood up like a dogs. It is funny tho, my S4 has has hair in the exact same place on his back and has had it there since he was born. My son has the exact same body definition as my H. Lucky boy when he starts dating the girls will just love his round, tight, perky butt and perfect legs.

I would do the spray tan at a tanning place, naked with a hot chick spraying you down? Sunset Tan on E! Channel?

You, my friend, are friggin' hilarious! I'll definitely take you up on the above suggestions! \:D

Donna,

Thanks for the PMA boost there! It is much appreciated (and of course the same goes for you! ;\) ). Yeah, you may have given me a little too much info (as did waw1978), but I guess I'll take what I can get right now and you both provided me with plenty to think about! \:o

Kelley,

My chest area is still pretty irritated from the waxing as of right now (going to get some cortizone cream to help with that soon), but I think I may consider continuing to wax it. I'll probably go in to have it done one more time in about a month or so to see if it is any better pain and irritation-wise, and then make a better determination at that point. I'll ask them about the Nair idea and see if that is a reasonable strategy for maintenance now that the waxing is done.

waw,

I will continue to keep you all posted (see the above for the current update). I'm wondering if it would look strange to wax most of the chest and leave a small patch in the middle -- what do you think? Also, next time I think I'll leave the happy trail below the belly button too.

Thanks for the insight on this new journey of mine, everyone!

GD

I know you didn't ask me, but I think you should wax it all or nothing. Just my opinion though.

Also, I forgot what your tattoo looks like. Did you post a picture?

alk24,

I posted a link to a picture of my tattoo -- it is a website where I found the picture -- on my previous thread, I believe (or the thread before). I'll try to create another link here soon so you can see it. I'm very happy with it!

Thanks for your two cents about the all or nothing chest wax -- I didn't ask you, but appreciate as many opinions as I can get. It's liking polling for research purposes! Thanks again -- I hope more people provide their opinions on this too.

GD

I say, take it all off the chest and back for sure. But ABSOLUTELY leave the happy trail next time!

I was wondering though...when you wax the hair on the back and chest, will it come back prickley? That would feel strange to rub a guy's back and have it feel like velcro. Just a thought!

GD,
that is very cool picture. Where did you get it on you?

Yeah, wax the whole chest as just leaving a patch wouldn't look natural. You would have to really design that out then pluck the hairs out.

One of the tat's that I am going to get on my stomach is a butterfly and sun because it has meaning from this whole ordeal. The sun is from a song of a R gone bad and in there it says the rain keeps falling but will the sun come out again, meaning will I ever be happy again. The butterfly is from a saying about the caterpillar thought his world was coming to and end then turned into a beautiful butterfly. I truly thought my world was coming to an end when this happened but I think it is now turning me into a different person for my better.

Kelley,

I like the whole butterfly/transformation thing and keep thinking of Heims qoute on his thread. But I already have 5 tattoos and I am running out of discrete places...where are you going to put yours?

I was really thinking a lady bug too cause they are good luck.
