Do not negotiate your own divorce. You will screw yourself because you are not objective.
TRUE DAT!!!!!!! Seriously, let someone that has no emotional attachment do it. I allowed myself to get screwed. We went prose.... I took on a ton of debt PLUS she got a nice payoff. The prose lady was totally "for" women. I had to refinance both my houses and my payments went up over $500 a month. I now know that the refi's were totally unnecessary, and I probably wouldn't have had to pay her anything(both mortgages were very early). I also took on a bunch of credit card debt. I'm not whining, however I realize that had I got a lawyer he/she probably would have been able to tell me those things.
