Now do you all see why I couldn't figure out what the hell was wrong with me all those years of rejection?
It took two years of IC for me to "get it" that my H has some serious issues, not me! But it completely drained my self esteem bank. But its coming back. Not so sure about the H though.

NOOOOO!!!! Not the legs. Chest, back, nose, ears? YES!
And as for CVA's comment, I had that conversation with some of my friends and they'd never heard of the "Telly Savalas" (if you've seen The Break Up w Jennifer Anniston, you'll know what I'm talking about). ::dies laughing::
Nomo -- I think the manicure thing isn't a bad idea either. I might go that route one of these days... Nice to hear from you, buddy!
Sandi,
I have to say I don't think I would look good with a shiny bald head -- I think that look is better on stockier guys (I've got more of a slender build). Thanks for your 2 cents on it all, though.
Heim,
Okay, so I'm getting an affirmative on the "no legs" thing around here (they're not that hairy, anyway). And unfortunately, over the last couple of years the hair has begun to sprout on my back AND shoulders (guess I'm not too young for that after all!). No ear or nose hair though -- yet...
Sara,
I would post a chest pic, but am not sure how (I suck with technology -- a little help, Nomo? ). As far as a back pic, the hair isn't prevalent enough to be able to see it (it is a pretty new thing still). However, I know I'm going to start having the back done for sure.
Donna,
You only wanted H to wax around his nipples and not the rest of his chest? Wouldn't that look kind of funny? And I don't have Hobbit feet, so that's not a problem (good to know though).
My chest hair isn't light necessarily (I'm guessing you mean blonde?) -- it's black, but not really thick at all. It's just more spread out, and that's what I don't like about it. And I agree that on a cut chest, lack of hair accentuates the chest -- that's kind of what I'm leaning towards. I've been working on putting on weight, and have finally gotten to where I want to be -- now I'm working on toning out that added muscle, so in the not too distant future I plan on having a relatively cut chest and cut abs.
Still just coasting on the work thing -- gonna start working on my Master's next semester though.
waw,
I'll check out the Mangroomer, but I'm curious about going the laser hair removal route. I haven't looked into it yet, but I've heard that going this route will leave you not having to shave or wax for like 10 yrs. I think I would like not having to worry about it for that long, ya know?
At the risk of sounding lame and naive, I'm going to have to google the Brazilian -- never heard that term before, but I'm pretty sure I know what you're talking about!
alk,
Come on -- now you've gotta explain the "Telly Savalas." Can't leave me hanging like that!
Okay all, so it sounds like sandi is right -- mixed reviews. It just depends on preference. But ladies -- those of you who said chest hair is "okay" (as long as it's not a sweater! lol), would you rather have the chest hair or no chest hair if you had a choice? What looks better, is sexier, etc?.
Thanks for the comments everyone -- much appreciated!
Depends what's under the chest hair! If it is a sexy, muscular toned chest & stomach - definately no hair.
And don't google braz. if you are at work!
Laser is def. the best option, but very time consuming & pricey. I wouln't jump for that initially. I would suggest waxing 1st and make sure you like the look before the lasering.
Good point, savings -- I think I'll go that route first just to see. I'm curious as to how painful the waxing of the chest is though. How long does that sort of hair removal last?
Nomo,
Thanks for the words of wisdom there. I was thinking Brazilian was a wax job that ran from the small of the back down and around... would that be accurate?
Well, now you are out of my league GD. It's a female thing (just seen it referenced/discussed in popular culture and on these boards ), and I haven't administered one or even witnessed/inspected one, but I'm willing.
Now, if you're looking to do something comparable, I'd suggest a razor, not wax.

I am not going to lie - it is not pleasant. But just remember that us girls do it and manage it on all areas of our body - the chest would probably be one of the least painful. The amt. of time it lasts varies for everyone - the salons will tell you 4-6 weeks. But remember that all hair grows in cycles - so when you go to get waxed, there are many hairs that are just under the surface about to 'sprout' in a few days - so those hairs will be seen a few days post wax. Also - when doing such a large area like that - many hairs are not pulled out from the root - they are broken, in which case those will continue to grow also. I would say the 1st week is all smooth and from then on - you will start to feel hair again but it would be light. By 4 weeks you need to do it again.
Generally all salons & spas. Just make sure you get a cream to put on afterwards that will help avoid breakouts & bumps. My H would break out with little bumps anytime I waxed him. You know that's love right!
