Hey everyone. Yeah, I've been AWOL, so to speak. Actually, I've been an EXTREMELY busy Jethro these days. Work has been very demanding, so I haven't even been in the office...out at client sites. Been getting home late and barely have energy to visit with the family, let alone hit the BB. And now I think I'm getting sick... I'm still bogged down, but will try to do some catchup this weekend.
A mini-update. The other day I again mentioned to my W how it would be nice to hear ILY. I told myself I wouldn't bring it up again, but the opportunity was there so I took it. Anyway, I simply said that if she loved me she'd tell me. Her response was that she did love me and that she knew she should say it more often! So, since then, I've heard it a couple of times. She's really listening... Also, when I came home the other night I noticed Love Languages open on the bed, so she's been reading that too.
Day by day she's coming around...and has been very giving and present lately. I can't really ask for anything more than that. Honestly, I'd have to say that if weren't for the A, we'd have a pretty good M and R right now. So, now I have to do my best to get past the A.
Quoting RJJ:Your song portrays such feeling - you are a talented artist!A friend of mine just picked up guitar in the last year - the other week, I was over at his place (it's his wife I went to the last play with) and he was playing "Closer to fine" (Indigo Girls). I just started singing along. I don't play an instrument, but he has inspired me - maybe it's not too late for me. I think it would be very therapeutic.
Thanks, RJJ. You're such a sweetie! You know, it's never too late to get into music. And yes, it is quite therapeutic. I feel relaxed after tearing it up on my axe...
Quoting SB:Jethro, your song could be our anthem.
I'm flattered, but I wish it otherwise...
Quoting PNT:Many years ago, my mom wrote a bunch of songs. She had me sing them onto a tape for her. Then she sent these tapes in to a company with professional musicians who recorded the songs for her.
Would you be interested in doing something like that with your music?
I've thought about it. We've made a few CDs of our own music, but I feel somewhat self-conscious about sending them to anyone. I enjoy it as a hobby and don't really have the motivation to pursue a career in music. My son (9) just started playing piano about five months ago and can already play Moonlight Sonata. Man, it sounds beautiful...even close my eyes when I listen.
