My point is... the way I see devout Christians at least... not only do they apply the Bible as the final authority of their marriages and sex lives... they apply it to all aspects of their lives. I guess I didn't really get them from you... that you are that devout. If you are, sorry for my assumption.
You've also said that your wife is not that devout in her beliefs. If this is the case, I would not see her as holding the bible up as the final authority on her life... she picks and chooses what will be final.
So... to hold up these things in the bible that prove YOUR case, in YOUR mind... don't prove them to her (or me for that matter), simply because our beliefs are different. And is, therefore, to me a waste of your time and logic.
