Can someone here recommend a couple good book titles I can forward along to my mother-in-law? Easy to find at Barnes and Noble?
I believe my spouse suffers a little more from WAS-syndrome. But MLC seems to fit the bill too.
My MIL has turned over a new leaf, has become very apologetic to my family for her son's "terrible, inexcusable behavior". Finally!
He has cut off almost all contact with his family, as well as his old friends. She is curious to learn more about what he is going through, as she has little feed-back from him. Want to direct her to a good book, as I don't want her to think I am making up this syndrome!!!!
Don't worry about how this is going to look, DW-wise. I've been fighting for 8 months and losing ground the entire time. There is absolutely nothing more I can do. He wants to be with the OW, likes his "new life" so much better, and has been adamant and steadfast about his desire for a divorce since June.
I am just trying to play up the guilt factor the best I can. As husband would prefer a Dissolution, and the lawyers recommend I take his offer, as it will be better than what any judge will give me in this state. He is guilty as h#&& and just wants to "buy his way out". So I'll let him.
I can't force him to stay, can't convince him to try again. Might as well take care of me . . .
Having his momma on my side helps a lot. May guilt him even more.
Book titles that explain MLC? Thanks . . .

Men in Midlife Crisis by Jim Conway available at Amazon
I think it was Was2 that recommended this book to me way back when I first came here. It was a great book. In fact I gave my copy to my H, and after he read some of it, he even admitted that he was going through MLC. Didn't do him any good, it just meant that he had an excuse for his bad behavior. But I think it would be a good book for an outsider trying to understand what the MLCer is going through.
Hi! If you go to the MLC forum there is a thread called MLC resources - All in one thread. In the first post there is a huge list with subjects. Almost at the bottom you will find a subject called - Highly recommended reading material There are lots of titles there. What a great MIL that she is stepping up for you AND trying to figure out what her son is going through...a good mom!
