Also, I feel like I am in a catch 22. If I pull back and don't spend time with her when she is in town then I appear unhappy and withdrawn. If I do I wind up helping/enabling her to have it easy with not having to take care of the kids solo. I also feel more depressed (guilty?) when I don't get to see them. (all of them but the kids especially)
