I've got to share my favorite teaching stories of all times. The day that 911 happened we were of course in class. We kept the news on in the class, these are high school students. It was saying how President Bush was at a undisclosed location. One of my students, Beau, said I think the president's a chicken. I said well Beau it's very important that he stays safe because he is the leader of the free world and has many important decisions to make. Beau said we don't live in a free world. I said yes, we do, He said no, we don't. I said we live in a democracy which doesn't have laws like the communist. He said we don't live in a free world, we have to pay for everything! He was just as sincere as he could be, he wasn't trying to be funny. So guess what, we had a quick gov't lesson that day!

Life's challenges are not supposed to paralyze you, they're supposed to help you discover who you are.
