Theo,
I'm quite well, how are you? I'm being a mean teacher and giving a test. It's very quiet in here, ahhhh.

I just had to share the cutest story with you all. My students are taking a test today. I was a little distracted trying to check a test, when one my students said I think it's crazy that I have to have a compass for my class. I said oh really? She said yeah one that tells directions like north or south, so I'm thinking she's in geography. I said what class is it for? She said geometry. I said oh, well that's not what your teacher meant. I said you need a compass that draws circles. She oh, I have one of those and she pulled out her protractor. I said no, that's a protractor, a compass fits on a pencil and you draw cirlcles with it. She said why in the world would you need to draw circles in there. I think I might should give heads up to the geometry teacher, LOL.

Poor little thing! At least she's not afraid to ask questions! I might have wondered the same thing at her age---probably did---but I wouldn't have dared to ask.

Your class sounds like fun, actually!

Yeah, at least it happened in my class and not her math class! I do enjoy my students. It's amazing what a bond you develop with them. I have one that even comes and mows my yard for me sometimes without me asking, isn't that a sweetie? I tried to pay him, but he wouldn't take it. So I invited him for supper and he kept raving about how good it was. He gets along on with my girls.

I've got to share my favorite teaching stories of all times. The day that 911 happened we were of course in class. We kept the news on in the class, these are high school students. It was saying how President Bush was at a undisclosed location. One of my students, Beau, said I think the president's a chicken. I said well Beau it's very important that he stays safe because he is the leader of the free world and has many important decisions to make. Beau said we don't live in a free world. I said yes, we do, He said no, we don't. I said we live in a democracy which doesn't have laws like the communist. He said we don't live in a free world, we have to pay for everything! He was just as sincere as he could be, he wasn't trying to be funny. So guess what, we had a quick gov't lesson that day!

I remember one time the nun told me if I didn't like it I could leave. Well I got up and left. Boy was she pissed.
