Being Me, you mentioned you are about to hit the big 50 soon (I'm not far behind you!). I thought I'd share this poem that I came across, I hope you enjoy it.

A Woman Knows

It is winter
and I am fifty
Nine women have gathered in a small cabin
on the edge of a frozen lake
to sing and dance and laugh away
this awkward reality
We have walked on the ice in the moonlight
and laughed our way through dinner.
We have soothed fifty with new red lipstick.
In this small, warm room
I have pulled away from myself
and I am watching the women dance.
A room full of beauty ~ tangible as blood
It breaks your heart wide open
when a woman knows how beautiful she is.
At fifty, young men's eyes slide over us like water.
Fraying hair, lines on our skin
the pull of gravity,
turn us into background
into echoes
But it breaks the seals from your eyes
when a woman knows how beautiful she is.
She dances with the fluid sensuality of long experience
and deep memories of love.
She moves like the tides,
like heartbeat.
Fifty, they say, is sliding into old
The end of the line
the end of youth and passion
the end of flirtation and wild physical being
the end.
But it lifts the barriers from your mind
when a woman knows how beautiful she is
Her confidence, the sexy movement of her dance
The life of her shoulder and the tease in her hips
Experience textures her
Layers her movements with context and consciousness
She dances her life story
She fills the room with power
When she knows how beautiful she is.
Outside, tree branches sketch sharp wrinkles
and soft shadows against the snow
The year is old
but we are only fifty.

Thanks, Wii! And, it sure did bring a smile to my face, Phoenix! A friend bought me a t-shirt that said "I'm not 50, I'm 49.95!" So funny. \:D

I want one that says, "you might think I'm a grumpy old man, but I call it Turret's". "OK, we're both right".

I found this quote which I thought really applied to our sitches: God created the law of free will, and God created the law of cause and effect. And he himself will not violate the law. We need to be thinking less in terms of what God did and more in terms of whether or not we are following those laws.” - Marianne Williamson

I was also thinking about this DB'ing theory, and how we humans always want what we think we can't have (I posted something about this on someone else's thread). So, we should be the greener grass in order to have a chance of attracting our spouses back. Keep in mind the cause and effect of our choices and actions. I am certainly going to ponder this with my sitch, and see what cause I can effect, which will give me the best outcome.

Labour Day weekend is coming, and the kids go back to school next week (in our region, anyway), so lots of things to do, organize, etc. Busy time, indeed, and it will help keep my mind off negative stuff. Although, I have been pretty positive about life lately. I am sending my sitch into the cosmos, and allowing the Creator to deal with it as it pleases Him. I am letting go of the little control I have over my life, and seeing where it will take me. (As I said previously ... just floating along the river of life.)

Very nice, excellent perspective. I too have been somewhat following that approach. So far the outcome has definately been positive. W seems to be pulling closer and closer. Because I have chosen to follow this approach, her path has becoming closer and closer. It is encouraging to see that her choices have be more and more in my direction. Of course constant prayer hasn't hurt either.
