Yeah, family time is very important but surely, you have a little time for yourself, for a little GALing. So she gets upset, that's her problem. You're upset but she carries on regardless.
As far as helping her with her course, I would not jump to it but tell her I have to check my schedule and choose a time that suits me. I'd make her wait til I'm ready too.
