Unless he's changed his tune (and frankly, at this point, I don't think he's getting far enough along in the process anymore to answer this question), it was that he's no longer there b/c it was hard on the family -all his traveling. True, that. I'll have to verify that, but I'm pretty sure that's the line.
That organization is one of the larger employers in our small-to-mid-sized town, and although HR can only verify the dates of employment when asked, someone always knows someone who works there and can call 'outside' of the official inquiry, you know? and get the 'rest of the story'
