I agree, her husbands were generally losers, and aside from Nicky Hilton, couldn't match her in looks. Arguably the one she loved the most died tragically and from there it just went to [censored]...

Too bad Rock was gay; she adored him and they were gorgeous together.

And the eyebrows were a little thick, but helped give her that unique look...

I said to my H once, "Well, at least OW won't have trouble finding someone else since her pool of men includes married men".

Losers!

Hmmmm, at the risk of becoming even more unpopular....

If you cruise over to the Other Woman website, you will see that the other woman is, um, shall we say, um, a tad naive????

She believes everything out of the mouth of this guy, knows that his wife is killing him, hasn't slept with him or cared what he said since 1972, and she is going to rescue him.

It's very sad, really.

That is why they, as a group, tend to get very very upset that the married man won't leave his incredibly nasty current life and live a life of perfect happiness with her.

All in general, of course.

Annie,

Actually, Liz came up because of The Sandpiper.

But I really haven't watched her for a long time. I know I saw number of those films when I was a kid. The older movies I tend to watch now are very male-o-centric. The boys don't care about love movies yet.

Do you know that I think I would like to live with a gay man. I have some gay male friends, and they are so kind, and like to talk, and cook well, and notice what you are wearing.
Since I have been celibate for so long, I can clearly manage without, and frankly I value kindness and compassion more.

So perhaps Liz should have stayed with Rock.

BTW went to an exhibition of photos at teh Tate, and saw a photo of Audrey Hepburn BEFORE she got her eyebrows plucked. She looked very strange with thick eyebrows. But I think that Dietrich and Garbo definitely went too far the other way!

This has gone from the why adultery to why such thick eyebrows thread...

Works for me.

I'm with you on Rock dearie. I could have just basked in his charming, handsome male presence.

Speaking of gay men, I'm having dinner tonight with two lovely ones, my cousin, whose company I enjoy more than just about anyone I know, and his partner, who is a little odd, but very nice and loves nothing better than a wonderfully prepared and presented meal and a great glass of wine. They are coming by here for a glass of wine and then we are off to enjoy a local New Orleans cuisine cafe here in town.

So, my hot Saturday night date is with two gay men, and that suits me just fine.

Hey have fun, and say hi to those hunks.

I am waiting to get out of here myself, and get my Sat started, but M&M are still sleeping? I think the excitement of High school musical was way to much

Wondering here -

People speak of God and religion and the WAS who goes against all the principles and leaves the M.
Alternative life styles of gay/lesbian go against the same God, why should it be easy to accept them?

Oooh the tough questions. There are many commandments and injunctions that we don't keep and struggle with. Adultery and homosexuality are just two sexual sins, about which we get VERY exercised. What about loving our neighbour as ourself - a much greater commandment, and one which we ALL fail in repeatedly.

Also 'Judge not, lest ye be judged also' We shoudn't cause our brother [and sister] to stumble, neither should we judge them, but focus on our own bevaviour, to make that acceptable and pleasing to God. And yes, I am guilty as charged of judging. We should love the sinner, not the sin.
