Hi Aud! I think I am just tired of the constant struggle ... I am going to be 50 next month, and I had always hoped that by this age, things will be a little easier and settled for us ... such as, our finances, careers, more time and money for fun and time together, children mostly grown and self supporting, stable marriage, and so on. 'Eh, one can never say what the future holds, I guess. I just have to get through the next month, I think, and continue to realise that I do have many blessings, and I just have to keep working at my goals.

Thanks for posting. I do keep up with your thread ... just haven't had anything to add, since you are getting such awesome support.

"I am going to be 50 next month, and I had always hoped that by this age..."

Couldn't we all say that at any point in our lives? \:\)

I think when all is said and done, that we'll look back and see that though our lives were lived frequently in the "I just have to make it through this week...this crisis...this stage..." mode, somehow on this journey from one thing to the next we have managed to travel much farther and become much more than the two-dimensional images of our imaginations. The constant struggle is what makes us who we are.

You DO have many blessings. You have accomplished a lot, you have a strong, beautiful, empathetic character and despite the discouragement I know you feel, you are an inspiration to me and many others.

You're right, Aud, and thanks for posting your very appreciated thoughts (I am humbled that you think I can be an inspiration ... I sure don't feel very inspirational right now). It's just that I have never worried about these different key ages, like turning 30, or 40, but I always thought to myself, that I hope that when I turn 50, most of my issues in life will have been dealt with, we would be better off financially, yadda yadda yadda. I have to rethink that notion, indeed, and just let it go. Will just try and have a fun 50th birthday, and let the future take care of itself. (As it will, anyway.)

My D14 and I saw another rainbow yesterday. It was a full one, and was so beautiful. I am starting to think that I am getting a message from somewhere, or the rainbows are instilling a feeling of hope for the future (or maybe we've just had a lot of rain). Maybe my subconscious is getting through to me about attracting good into my life (the ol' Law of Attraction theory), and using the rainbows as a way to do it. Whatever it is, it's helping me get over my negative mood this week. I think I may even go to the gym. Ha!

Take care, y'all!

My all time favourite song:

I've always loved this song by Wet Wet Wet, although they are not the original singers (The Troggs were, which I prefer - am I giving away my age???). I found it on YouTube.

And, Wild Thing, also by The Troggs (loved the music from this era, although I am a 70's teen):

Not sure where my music point of view is right now.

Earlier this week I would of had to go with

[/color]Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb

Next I would have probably went with

Judas Priest - You got another thing coming

Then by Friday I'm going to say

Grateful Dead - Touch of grey

Then coming into the weekend end

Queen - I got to break free.

Not sure where the next step will be but I hope it's going to get better.

Thanks for the bump, Phoenix!

H is home for a week. He is still sorting out his job sitch, and finishing up the scooter biz. I am continuing to give him space to do whatever he needs to do.

We have friends staying for the week, from our previous city. It is really great to see them, and catch up on news, etc. H and the friend's H has gone fishing for the day today. S20 has gone with, so it'll be a guy thing. My friend and I will go to the mall, and to the beach. There's some sandcastle competition going on, so should be interesting.

So, that's all the news for now. Hope y'all have a great weekend.

Sounds like some good GAL. Would love to do a trip up there again, next time on a motorcycle though. I hope this week will give you some good positives to build on.

don't make me post that chain email "dance like no one is watching" story!

Yea, we all never thought we'd be where we are.

But heck, we'll do the best of it! we must. Life is too short.
Hope you have a great time w ur friend girl
