Why do these things happen lX

I am not going to call, I realize it would do no good at this time. We have now been separated 5+ months with nothing going on one way or the other. She did her first "I want a divorce" back in march, her last time is now going on a month ago, at that time she said she filed, well she didn't. She does keep telling our son that she loves me, misses me and that she is trying. That was as of last night.
