Believe it or not, mom-mode does have a purpose... and it is completely biological. Otherwise, we'd kill the man after he served our mating purposes, and we'd eat our young.
I'm sorry, I've never HEARD of a romantic vacation that involves kids. That doesn't mean you can't work in a quickie here or there, if the situation presents itself... but if you actually believe that you are going to be getting serious nookie with kids along... you are seriously bent.
We go into Mom Mode to keep the kids from killing off one another, and to protect the other, innocent, vacationers. We go into Mom mode so the toddler doesn't fall off the balcony while 'Dad' is getting his vacation nookie.
