CVA - "Back in Shape"

Hey ladies and gents
Thanks for your thoughts on the card, perfect, I think!

- Took son to ballgame yesterday, was nice to be just w/ him.
- W was in a great mood all day and night. That is always good.
- Watched a movie together last night followed by...yes backrubs.
- S9 and I talked about my neck and how happy I was (elated) and he said, "you should have called and told me about how happy you were dad". - again, unblelievable kid.
- A lot of subtle We and Our talk from W. I'll take it.
- Cat attacked me last night as usual!
- Thinking about Botox, too many wrinkles although people still say I look early 30s and too young to be running a company! I'll take that too!
- W comes up to my office yesterday while I am answering a sensitive email on our R to a friend and says, "hey what are you doing?" very strange timing but really a first in terms of her "following me around the house" - I'll take it.

All in all, pretty damn good day. Staying positive, just in case I get hit with a 2x4 but trying not to dwell on the potential roller coaster syndrome we have all dealt with.

Oh forgot why I started writing, the card thing went well, I think? Put in there that I know it was hard for her to put up w/ me during the very stressful period and she should have hit me w/ a frying pan, I got a smile out of that one.

I read somewhere that if you stop those pesty wrinkles in their tracks, before they get bad, it saves ya from having to do something involving a knife later. Not that I would know o/c

That is the idea! Not to get derailed from why we are here, but most people doing Botox these days are in their late 20s for that very reason. Soon my forehead will be as smooth as a baby's butt!

Need to Journal

Weird day today.

Planned on going to the mall to look at some shoes for daughter that are only at a particular mall. I also wanted to look at mountain bikes there.

So I get home around 9 am after sleeping in. Left last night around 12:30 am after watching a movie so was tired.

Well apparently so was W. S7 decided to join her in bed last night and with the late night, she was VERY tired today, uh oh.

- go to the mall, not much talking in the car, not like yesterday when everything was up and bubbly.
- I look at mtn bikes. Tell W I want a good one so I can keep up w. a friend and she says "your gonna kill yourself" THANKS, NICE VOTE OF CONFIDENCE HONEY.
- THe day really never got off the ground in terms of her in a good mood and unfortunately I let it get to me a bit and didnt have the greatest responses to her mood. Oh well, tomorrow is another day.
- TOnight was not perfect either. S9 and I talked late as usual, W is taking family to Dallas in 2 wks and S9 and I talked about it. He says he wants to stay with me andI really just said whatever he wanted to do was fine, just dont stay w/ me because he feels like I am sad.'

- W comes dowm from upstairs and says S9 was upset about Dallas. She basically says, HE IS GOING, THAT IS IT! Well OK, I say, kinda hurt that I am not part of the decision process. Never got mad, it just seemed awkward.
- Ended w/ a backrub anyway.

Tomorrow will be a good day. Period.

Ok, buddy. Minor backslides. No biggies. Learn from the day, and then let it go. A few thoughts:

Frustrating, but not surprising. Especially since she was tired, but even if she wasn't . It will not be all positive. There will be pull backs, down days. Expect it, and don't let them affect you or your PMA.

I didn't take it that way at all, but i didn't hear the tone or see the face. Either way, who cares what she thinks about it. And as far as a positive, at least she is noticing what you're doing. (BTW, I got a good bike too. Maybe I can try to keep up on one of your rides?)

Can you see why your W might be upset. S is 9, so is it really just his call? Probably not. And I can see how she thought you undercut her here.

Yep, she was pissed. Remember, your needs don't matter to her right now, so saying you were hurt probably didn't mean anything to her. And if you failed to validate her anger, yo missed an opportunity. But if you do see it now, you can do it tomorrow. Right? Better late than never. And don't make it a big deal. A quick comment/apology should suffice, or maybe an email.
