Well, when you don't have a choice, you just do it - period.

I've been with my wife for 11 years, not as long as you, but a good chunk of my life - and I loved it!!! I never thought I'd have to be without her. I got very co-dependent. I went off the deep-end for a couple of weeks when she sent me packing. Then I got a freakin life! I haven't been perfect, but I do not need her to be happy. I want her in my life because she is the most valuable person, with my son in there too, in my life, but I can't make her come back. It's like losing the best investment you ever had but you don't jump out the window! Life is too important to give it up over someone else's bad decisions - or your own for that matter (in my case, I take a lot of responsibility for my wife leaving). you just learn and move forward. If you don't learn something, you're just wallowing, and that'll never make you happy, not ever.

We can talk ourselves into defeat or we can talk ourselves into victory - we are creatures of our thinking.
