Hey, you do not have to throw in the towel. If you were DBing you wern't pursuing him anyways, right? Just keep up living your life to the fullest. He probably is making a huge mistake that will cost him a lot, but it is up to you to be the best you can. I had a weird time meeting my Dad's new girlfriend. They were actually married and he lied about that for years. I acted polite and thought I liked her but it is so confusing. Be there for your kids, but more importantly, model happiness and grace. You can do it. He might come back. Might not. You mentioned he let himself go and he was not very successful. Men supposedly gravitate to people that make them feel better about themselves. Even if that means someone with really low self esteem. That is why I think so many OP seem to have issues with self esteem. You might also meet someone new. Just don't talk bad about him out there, just in here!
