Really? We have a home but my mother gave us the down payment. She said if he tried anything she would ask for half of it back as a loan. He said he would never try to take anything, but we have all heard that one before! My mother also gave him a retirement package when they became business partners. That is the tricky part. My mom was about to give him the family business and another home. She said my H was like her son. Now she says it is like he is no longer a part of our family. My mom is this hard core business woman and this ordeal has brought her to tears. She truly feels like she has lost a son.
