Things are going pretty good - just wrapping up my trip in Toronto (I return home on Sunday). I looked at a house out here that was reasonably priced and in a great location. I'm looking at a few more tomorrow, just to get an idea of what's available.
I'm definitely not looking forward to going back to work on Monday!

Right now at 8:50 am it's 25 degrees or 80 degrees to those who prefer that, it's supposed to hit 38 degrees or 100 degrees by early afternoon. For those south of our border, yes our igloos do melt in the summer LOL. It's been like this for days now and is only going to cool slightly for the rest of the month or so they say.
The battle is just OK I guess, STBXW is peeking then spewing and leaving threatening messages on my voice mail, I have no time for it now. Her fantasy world is falling apart at the seams while I am back to living.
Not too much planned for the weekend, just hang with my kids and do some house and yard work
We used to travel to Rice Lake near Cambridge to fish every summer w/my mom and dad. We stayed in a fish resort.
We haven't been back since dad passed and I do miss it. I loved the different habits there. Gravy on fries, pizza at McDonalds and those delicious MR BIG candy bars!!!!!!!
GK99, you sound awesome!
" LOL...she probably wouldn't notice for weeks!"
I had to laugh at this b/c my mom, 70 yrs old, has gotten very forgetful. It is sad, but my sisters and I can joke about it b/c it's really a scary thing.
The other day my sister and mom were in a phone conversation about Lady Bird Johnson dying and the kind of person she was. My mom had CNN on at her house. In the middle of that very conversation, my mom pipes in "Oh, Lady Bird Johnson died." like it was the first time she'd heard it!
My sister was crushed. But, we ended up laughing a bit trying to comfort ourselves.
Anyway, keep hanging in there GK!

It's been a while since I have updated my situation. I've been really busy with work and other stuff.
Not a whole lot has changed - W got her bank to do an appraisal on our house. It actually came in a little higher than I expected (go figure). I am in the process of setting up an appraisal for next week (W wanted me to get one by yesterday).
Last week, the phone rang and it was from her parents house in Ontario. I was just on my way out so I didn't answer (not that I would have anyway). When I got home, there was a message on my answering machine and the person on the other end of the phone said "wimp" twice and then hung up! I am not sure who's voice it was - it was female but sounded younger than W's mom or sister. Very strange...
I just got this email from W regarding the appraisal:
Quote:
Hi GK99,
Have you set up an appointment to have the appraisal done? Please let me know who is doing it and the date and time as I will want to be there for the assessment. It is disappointing you can't have it done until next week as we need to move forward with things. In a previous email I had asked you to have it done by July 26.
As of now, come September 1st I have no where to stay therefore I may be moving back into the house. If you are still there I will stay in the spare bedroom.
Thanks.
W
Any ideas on how to respond to her? I have not booked an appraiser yet - just too busy. I am calling places tomorrow.
The idea of her living here with me has me kind of laughing...

Well, I guess I would absolutely not want her living there w/me and you do have every right to have that. She can make all the requests of you that she wishes, but in your time is what you need to do. Maybe it will get a little difficult for her if she is in "limbo". Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, what a shame
With that said, what do you want? Do you have an idea of how you really feel about this one?
Laugh, laugh, laugh. Find humor wherever you can b/c that is what keeps us standing tall!
