"I'd like to introduce you to my ex-wife, friend, and personal doormat! Bimbo, this is Doormat; Doormat, Bimbo. Now we can ALL be friends. Isn't this great?!"
How much is his friendship worth? $150,000 plus $750/month? $50,000 lump-sum? How about $0.02?
I called my attorney today to say I was ready to file. Unfortunately, she needs more paperwork!
Thursday I have a job interview. I will probably be able to get to the attorney's office that day as long as I'm off work. Also have a dental appt. What a lovely day I have planned.
I called D16 when I was about 15 minutes from home this pm and H answered the phone. By the time I got home he was gone. D16 said he left without saying goodbye to her. Ha, maybe H is afraid of me now!!!!!
You are going to make it....We have no choice but to become stonger and stronger if not for us but for our kids. The H's are the ones that will loose out eventually. The H's are in a world of there own right now and we can't change that. Like I told yoyo Frontier Justice will come around someday. When and if they realize what they have lost it might be to late. Hang in there and do consult a Lawyer on finances because what counts now if YOU and the GIRLS. Take care of you.....I am also consulting a lawyer my H family is a big strong family but a fair family but still I want some back up for me. You need to do that for you...and your future....BE strong.
I prefer to think I was pumping up "Mad Matty" before she deflated back into "Sad Matty." The fact that my pump was in the shape of a 2x4 is mere coincidence.
Hope its going well with the interview and the lawyer.
Have more paperwork to do for the lawyer before she can file. Darn! I thought I had all that done. I can't go by there today because I am helping my MIL move (CRAZY!!!) and I took off yesterday for the interview and dental appt.
The interview? Confusing! I spent 2 1/2 hours being interviewed by 3 people. Some good things about the job (more money, good benefits, in my field), but the bad is weighing in heavy (not flexible hours, 3 evening hours (which might leave D16 with too much time on her hands), and supervising lots of employees with many personalities and questionable time to supervise. I may have blown the interview at the end anyway. They asked why I wanted the positition. I hesitated.....and then answered truthfully that I would have to think about it.
Wish I didn't feel rushed to find a new job, but I do. I wanted a new job FOR ME, but now I feel pressured because of the divorce and getting D16 settled before school starts. I know I would be better off staying where I am (even though I am unhappy) until I find something that is truly better.
Don't sweat it if you aren't sure you want the job. You told them you'd have to think about it--so are they waiting to hear from you, or do you expect them to make contact?
Personally I think 3 evening hours per week (not per day I hope!) is not that bad and your teenage daughter can be responsible for herself during that time. If she were younger I would expect your H to agree that he could be with her for that time.
I think you should make up your mind whether you want it or not. Then call them and either let them know you can't take the job (use the hours as the excuse) or say you do want the job, that you were concerned about the hours, and that has been taken care of. Do it today or Monday at the latest. They will appreciate the call either way, even if they have already moved on to the next candidate.
