Hey J. Ok....most people in the RE Industry do NOT make a lot of money. It's certainly a 90/10 rule. 10% make %90 of the money. It can be done but it IS a lot of work and you have to really be committed to doing it. So you comment about it being too easy..no way. You have to have a thick skin, be very forward with people and just keep moving - never slow down. I've always said, it's more a lifestyle than a job. You'll need to be involved with different clubs or social groups and you have to let everyone know that this is what you do. You can never turn it off either. 7 days a week. The benefit is, it is flexible and if you need to run out at 3pm on a wed..well you can.
So...I'm not trying to be the downer but want you to know that if you really want to make it, you need to dig in deep. I'm sure you can do this!
Have you looked at this agent's numbers? I assume that you're getting some type of percentage off what he makes, no? If so, you should be able to see what he has produced for the last couple of years and figure out how much you'll pull in.
Again...you CAN do this but don't be fooled into thinking it's easy. Those who do are in the 90%.
