Hey bambam...when I was working at the bank we could only use certain appraisers when determining the "market value" of the house for mortgages. I know that the appraisers we used would always come in a bit low so that the bank was protected. I had several instances where the person looking for a mortgage would bring in an appraisal they had obtained from a reputable appraiser that was much higher and we wouldn't use it.

I emailed W and told her that I would prefer to use a mutually agreed upon appraiser once I return home. We'll see how that goes...

Well, I can understand a bank's need to protect themselves, especially in today's fraudulant market. I've never had a bank ask me to keep it low. BUT, I also live in a small rural community and I'm sure things are a bit different.

I still think it is a good idea for you to have a say in which appraiser. If she doesn't agree, I would hire my own.

Hope your day is going well! \:\)

Hey bambam. Ya, things might operate a bit different here in Canada. The banks are crazy huge up here and have a lot of influence.

I've actually got a pretty fun weekend lined up, including a Blue Jays game on Sunday! I haven't been to a game in a few years.

Hope things are going well with you!

Well guys, maybe that is a good thing? You know how much fraud we have in the states right now. It is crazy.

Sounds like you have a great weekend planned, GK! Enjoy it!

I think I will mainly be doing baseball w/my boys and working.

Not too thrilling, but I love watching boys play baseball!

Enjoy! bambam

GK,
One thing I am learning is that if you are not sure, it will be harder to see results.

My sister and I were out at the store buying a birthday card for my mom. I suggested that we each pick the first card we see and just buy the one that makes the most sense (I know...not very sentimental - but a good way to save time). The one I grabbed was okay, but not great. The one my sister picked said "To a Special Mom" on the outside and had some nice words inside. We both agreed that this was the card to get. We were just about to go pay for the card when my sister noticed that the outside of the card didn't say "To a Special Mom" after all. Instead, it read "To a Special Man".

The thought of giving this card to our mom made us burst out laughing for the next 15 minutes. People in the store thought we were crazy.

That's hilarious! You should give it to her anyway and see what happens!

LMAO, GK!

Isn't it good to be able to laugh?

How are you?

LOL...she probably wouldn't notice for weeks! Actually, we found another nice card and gave it to her already.
