I know there is some profound lesson to be learned at the end of this test. But damnit it can be so trying.

I am so with you NM, did you read the sub thread about the different degrees of darkness? I think mine does not have to be totally dark, just grey as it says. Maybe we should all hook up on some online gaming site to spend some of that dark time doing something besides wondering.
