Ok, thanks you two. They just think that since it is summer that they are on "vacation". I tried to explain that when I worked with the school system and had the summers off that I still had to clean and cook.

Hmmmm, what sounds good for lunch today?

yeah since he's not there - but teamwork would be a good phrase to use \:\)

And you might ask them when YOU get a vacation from housework ;\)

They would probably say never cuz I'm the mom.

I did get them good the other night though. Of course after their dad gave them the list they were mad so they weren't speaking to me. I came home from work, tried to talk to them and after being ignored, I went in the kitchen and fixed me a sandwich. Later that evening they asked what was for dinner. I told them I had eaten. They wanted to know why I didn't fix them something so I told them that I didn't do things for people that don't talk to me.

They are old enough to fix things themselves and since they were being pigheaded, they didn't eat. I did feel bad about it but they need to learn.

Went home for lunch for once and also to see how well the youngest cleaned the bathrooms. She was so thrilled about them she wanted me to check them out before her Daddy. She did a really good job. She said if I said it was good then her Dad couldn't complain.

She even shined all the chrome in both bathrooms. I am almost afraid to dirty them up now.

Oh man, my W is a master bathroom cleaner. When she'd get done, I wouldn't want to touch anything so it would stay clean longer. I'd go all the way downstairs to pee, just so I wouldn't have to touch the clean upstairs faucets when I washed my hands.

It's a great sign that your D is taking pride in her chores. That bodes well for her work ethic later when she goes to get jobs. Congrats, I'm sure that has a lot to do with you ;\)

I think it has more to do with not wanting her Daddy to fuss at her. She goes through spurts, sometimes she helps and other times, she is lazy (this she takes after me ;\) )

I picked up D13 at her Dad's yesterday after work and as soon as she got in the car she informed me that she and her sister had a strike against them with the cleaning. Seems they each forgot to do something. They were afraid their Dad was going to take away the stuff he said if they didn't finish their chores but he told them that was their one and only chance.

H called me about 30 minutes later to tell me. I told him that she already told me. He said good, she is taking responsibility by letting me know what is going on.

You know what really shocks me? When he calls me like that knowing he is going to be calling the kids later that night to tell them good night. He makes that extra call to just talk to me. He did that when we were at the beach. He called to tell me something instead of waiting until he called the girls. Confuses the hell out of me!!!!

Anyway, today is dusting and vacuuming day. The nice part about all of this is I can do little things I wanted to get done now that the cleaning is getting done during the day. I straightened up last night so when they dust and vacuum it will be nice and clean. I had to laugh because my D16 said that dusting did not mean use the feather duster...it means use the furniture polish. So, my house is going to shine tonight.

I am going to go get my hair done tomorrow morning. I can't wait. I am going to sit in the chair and say have fun. Don't cut the length off but give me a style, give me a color that will hide the gray and my roots from the last coloring. I want a whole new look. My sister owns her own shop and will be doing it. I told her to give me a look that will knock H's socks off!!!! Wish me luck.

Everyone have a super good day!!!!

Just sent an email to H inviting him to either ride with us or meet us at a place we go swimming on Sunday. I figured it didn't hurt to ask. If he says no or doesn't say anything at all, I won't take it the wrong way. I just wanted to give him the option.

The last time I told him we were going, we changed our minds but he showed up. That was the time we booked it getting ready and missed him by 5 minutes at the beach. Oh well. This time, I won't change my mind.
