I feel the need to confess. Last night, I made light of your sitch w/ my w. Looking through the mail, she found a solicitation to add "unlimited text messaging" to her cell phone, and commented, "what the heck would I do w/ that? I don't even know how to send a txt message..."...to which I relplied, "you could use it to send love notes to your boyfriend". of course, this was followed by a heavy sigh, and a oh, well. we're thinkin' of ya.
gotta say, I think I found a "boundary" I can really get behind. "no texting your boyfriend from MY bed!!!". Seriously. I don't think I could tolerate that kind of disrespect.

I remember making lists like that...as a teenager, or college student. Of course, mine didn't have "botox" or "nails" or "cell phone" on them. or any other such frivolities. ($240 a month for Botox????!!!! you've been paying that right along???? good grief!). Perhaps it is just part of the process of learning how to take care of yourself, which you mentioned, she's never had to do before. And maybe, (just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt), as she works through this process, she'll begin to realize that botox and beamers are only for rich white ladies, and she'll scratch them off the list. -------------------------------------------------------
the "ring" thing: geez, I hope W didn't think I was up to no good a few months back, when I took mine off. Things were probably not all that great, at the time...but that has nothing to do w/ why I took 'em off. I had to take them off because I've gotten so phat over the years, they were digging into my finger, cutting off circulation, and causing discomfort. Its been quite a while, and I can still see a mark.
