Oh, I've seen it done but I have no personal experience with that myself. I'm the "au natural" type. I can't imagine having to spend so much money on personal upkeep. But I'm fairly cheap I think. I hate spending $40 on a haircut every few months. I would never blow all that money on what MrsChoc is spending it on, especially if I had a $500 a month credit card. Holy Crumoli!

I agree -- I cannot type w/ those stupid things -- can't imagine lifting weights, etc. w/ them. Plus you have to go every 2 wks or even sooner to get the "fills" done. Lots of $$$ there -- very high maintenance.

Choc, I'm still in shock at how things have turned the corner w/ you guys. I really thought she was going to see things 'your way' from the beginning and be willing to work on your M w/ you. She's got to be having an MLC. I can't imagine that she's behaving this way and knows that your children know what she's doing!!! That's what gets me. It's one thing if she doesn't think she's 'in love' w/ you anymore and wants to see if the grass is greener, but she is being so very selfish, she can't be thinking straight!!

I just wanted to say you are doing all the right things, and I just hope that your heart, mind, emotions, etc. are truly doing ok. I know you probably have your 'moments,' but I truly hope you're doing ok w/ all of this.

You know how when you do something really dumb, in a weird secret way it makes you feel a little better to see someone doing something even more dumb.

I feel like a million dollars.

Chrome

p.s. I do still pity her though.

She is behaving like a teenager.... with no acknowledgement of how things happen in the real world. Very bizarre. Major denial.

(Re nails: I like mine very very short-- started that in massage therapy school and continued when I took guitar lessons. I tried acrylic nails but they were so perfect, they outclassed the rest of me. \:\) )

I feel the need to confess. Last night, I made light of your sitch w/ my w. Looking through the mail, she found a solicitation to add "unlimited text messaging" to her cell phone, and commented, "what the heck would I do w/ that? I don't even know how to send a txt message..."...to which I relplied, "you could use it to send love notes to your boyfriend".
of course, this was followed by a heavy sigh, and a \:\(
oh, well. we're thinkin' of ya.

gotta say, I think I found a "boundary" I can really get behind. "no texting your boyfriend from MY bed!!!". Seriously. I don't think I could tolerate that kind of disrespect.

---------------------------------

I remember making lists like that...as a teenager, or college student. Of course, mine didn't have "botox" or "nails" or "cell phone" on them. or any other such frivolities. ($240 a month for Botox????!!!! you've been paying that right along???? good grief!). Perhaps it is just part of the process of learning how to take care of yourself, which you mentioned, she's never had to do before. And maybe, (just trying to give her the benefit of the doubt), as she works through this process, she'll begin to realize that botox and beamers are only for rich white ladies, and she'll scratch them off the list.
-------------------------------------------------------

the "ring" thing:
geez, I hope W didn't think I was up to no good a few months back, when I took mine off. Things were probably not all that great, at the time...but that has nothing to do w/ why I took 'em off. I had to take them off because I've gotten so phat over the years, they were digging into my finger, cutting off circulation, and causing discomfort. Its been quite a while, and I can still see a mark.

Gee - I don't know how anyone maintains acrylics - my lifestyle doesn't support it. If I get a professional pedicure 3x/year it is a lot!

Guess she will find out what it really costs to live. Watch for what you wish for Mrs. Choc - you just might get it!

Choc - things will improve for you - I'm sure of it!

Cac the "ring" thing:
BB and I each wore our respective rings on the honeymoon. The first day I went back to work, the ring got beat up, cut into my finger and it has been in the original box ever since 21 June 1968.

she'll begin to realize that botox and beamers are only for rich white ladies, and she'll scratch them off the list.
Cac4 Don’t tell that to Wardrobe Malfunction, Janet Jackson,

LFL I'm the "au natural" type.

if I had a $500 a month credit card payment ?. Holy Crumoli!
And an income of $325, sounds like it’s motel "Rescue Mission" to night.

Hay, I want the double walled cardboard box out back by the restaurant exhaust fan! That farm tractor tire over there will keep you dry but it is kind of chilly, being open on one side.

Lil I tried acrylic nails but they were so perfect, they outclassed the rest of me.
Oh, maybe so on the outside, but they couldn’t have outclassed you on the inside ;\)

Choc, the time Mrs. Choc spends getting used to a new cell phone, well some people treat new phones like a college term paper. I have observed it. Transferring phone numbers, trying out ring-tones, and learning about the phone’s options.

To me there two classes of phone time. Setting up and learning about the features and talking/texting.

Lou,

You don't need to hide it when you're only downloading Yankees wallpapers.

Lou,

I'm sure that thoughts like those cross her mind. She's clearly living in a place of fantasy right now, but yet she's also bright enough to know that OM#1 is PROBABLY (the rest of us right-thinking types would say "definitely") not future material for her. So I do think she thinks often of divorce (or at least separation), and how she can have perhaps other relationships, and live more comfortably financially.

Choc.
