I'm starting to wonder if my hope isn't just an unhealthy obsession.

I do not think so, I have wondered that many times myself, we love our spouses, that is why we do what we are doing now. True at some point it would be an unhealthy obsession, what that time point is, I have no clue.
After this weekend I was having that same thought, but said no to myself and said it is just the way things are at the present moment, give her time. Sucks but what else can we truly do at the moment.
