My wasband, when he walked, said that he had never loved me and blah blah blah.
I actually have chosen to believe him. Out of respect for his truth, and also because it allows me to see a better future in front of me. I mean, who needs that, really? No one that I've ever met!
So, it's okay whatever you believe. Just believe it with all of your heart, feel confident in it, and allow it to set you free. The truth WILL set you free.
