It is Matilda. Work is the main factor. It's been pretty much 24*7 recently but that's the nature of the job sometimes. I'm OK though and I do manage to socialise from time to time. All work and no play and all that....
On the holiday front it doesn't look as if the "family" holiday will pan out. The way things have worked there is only one window of opportunity and that's late July. Mr B and W are away then so me and D13/S15 will probably jet off to Cyprus.
Studying at the moment too. Got some training coming up in a week or so. Lots of preparation to do in advance because there is so much to cover. The course ends with a couple of exams. I'm out of practice with the studying but now that I'm getting back into it there is a certain enjoyment/satisfaction.
I had a birthday too. On the 7th (Monday). They come round too quickly for my liking.
Main frustration is S15 and school. Things are not going too well on that front. With hindsight (yes, it is wonderful thing) he would have been better off elsewhere but he's nearing the end of his first year at GCSE it's too late to change now really. Better to wait till the exams are out of the way which effectively is only 12 months away.
What else? Well AMD the job I was talking about was plumbing. Something totally different. Or go back to do some more studying - perhaps law. I'm going to start Spanish lessons too and maybe take up running. That's a definite maybe.
Hi Andy. Glad to get an update. You sound good! I went to Cypress many, many years ago and loved it. Happy studying. You sound like lots of potential stuff to keep you busy: law (WOW!), Spanish, running.... You are ambitious. Have fun and keep us updated now and then.
Wanted to give a you a few of these (((((Matilda))))). Took me a while to spot you had swopped Forum's. Read through your latest (locked) thread and wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. Take care.
Thanks, Andy. I am not sure why I checked your thread tonight.....but perfect timing for I needed the hugs! I'll let you know where I end up....H heading quickly to divorce although he actually hasn't filed.
So it's time for another update.... How are the children? Off school now for the summer? What are YOU doing for fun?
Children break-up for summer in about 5 weeks time. Hope the weather improves - all it's done for the last few days is rain. This will give you a flavour: Flooding Had to drive through one similar (not one in the pictures though) on the way home tonight. Two wheels on the kerb so water didn't get into the engine and stall it.
And the holiday is booked - Cyprus - we fly in just over 6 weeks. It's got to be warmer and drier than it is here.
What have I been doing for fun recently? I get out for drinks with folk from work. A couple of parties. Movies. Took my son and his friend snowboarding. Summer season is in full swing for my daughter, on the equestrian front, which takes up a lot of the weekends. So stuff like that really.
Work still the same - plenty busy. Looks set to continue that way for quite a while too. Still it beats being quiet.
Relationship with my W is good. Though it will be "Surviving.." rather than "Piecing..." where I'll be heading. Though not for a while yet. W will be joining us for the holiday after all. She goes away with Mr B first then flies out with me and the children to Cyprus.
Thanks Matilda, AMD for keeping in touch - I keep you both in my prayers. Take care.
Andy, I have been in my own little world lately so haven't been keeping up with world news or weather. The flooding looks awful. However, it's a bit funny to imagine you driving up on the curb to keep your engine dry (although I KNOW it wasn't funny for you!). It's too bad the rain can't spread out more...parts of the US are way too dry!
We had a funny experience when we were in Cypress (many, many years ago). We met a nice man at a restaurant who invited us over for a drink. My H is a very social person so we thought that might be an adventure. Turned out he took us to his daughter's house.....she had a little shop selling lace tablecloths and placemats. The trick worked for we bought some of her handiwork! The other thing I recall at the time were many UN troops (WITH GUNS!). We were going to visit the Turkey side until they wanted to TAKE our passports. I'll have to dig out my photos. Traveling will be a fond memory of my marriage.
I look forward to hearing about life in Cypress in 2007. Thanks for giving us an update. Enjoy your summer!
