I'm NOT getting a lawyer if this can be done fairly. The L I talked to even said -- if you can agree to everything you don't NEED a L. That being said - once the agreement is drawn up, I'm going to take it to this guy and ask him to review it for me....for fairness.

Sounds good. However, you H's idea of fairness is obviously going to fall his way a little bit. It is part of human nature. So just becareful with everything and do not let him slip anything by you....

I don't know if this was already discussed but why don't you go to mediation? No lawyers, and you actually could have a chance to talk about things. I know mediators here that will help restore a marriage if possible, rather than JUST breaking it up (the lawyer way)
Something to think about at least. You can drag that out as long as you'd like too, and it tends to be cheaper than L's.
