YOU heard that implication, defining it as "punishment". for all we know, the listener could interpret that as a reward. ("wooHOO, I've been set FREE!!!")
fact is, "Iwnliasm" IS most certainly a threat. The speaker is plainly threatening either suicide, or divorce, whilst offering another alternative. "if/then". its no different.
