MC you are doing great - keep at the baby steps. You do not want to move to fast. So many of us in piecing are not really piecing. If they come back to fast there seems to be a pattern of wanting out again...

She smiled and gave me the "whatever, I worked 12 hours today".
Today I am totally avoiding her, except for an e-mail I had to send her. She told the kids she would call after school to see how their day was. We will be gone. If she calls later fine, but she needs to feel the absense.

CW called while we were out running errands. I let the first call ring w/out answering. She called bacck two minutes later, so I answered. She was pi$$ed that S15 didn't have his phone as she told him she would call. I thought that it was odd that she was upset with him and yapping at me. I put him on and continued shopping.

MC, I think you are doing great. I think giving her compliments is good. Everyone wants to be flattered, right? As long as there is not too much so it seems fake and don't expect anything in return. Seems like she is initiating to hang out longer with you all, with the ice cream and such. It will take a while, hang in there.

Anyway, this morning I got up early, showered and bought CW her favorite bagel and tea. I met her at work when she arrived and to say she was surprised was an understatement. She thought I had been to the gym early, but I told her I got up to do this for her. She was much appreciative. I was very nervous how she would take it, but it was a positive.

WOW!... you took a chance and it sounds like it worked out well. Just goes to show you that you need to do what your gut is telling you.
And, yes - from a woman's perspective compliments are very very good...
