You know NOP, I have gotten to this place of faith where I believe we are not alone, that our Creator ( or whatever one believes) is there with us. This is ironic coming from me, because I have always been so alone in life.

NOP, I am still reading along here but I haven't been up to posting. My father is comfortable in the nursing home and we've hired a nurse's aide to watch over things during the day. It is a sad situation but we all agree that we have done the best thing for him, and rather than dwelling on the misery, my father says he is happy to be alive. It's going to be a reflective Father's Day for me.
Thank you once again for your concern. You know, for a former rogue, you have become quite a mensch.
Your dad sounds like he is a man's man. I bet he is a force to be reckoned with.
I hope that when the time comes, you will remember not the frailty of his age or disease, but rather his strength of will.
