I watched a classic movie this weekend, well part of it anyway. It's a scene from a John Wayne movie "The Quiet One". Duke plays an American boxer who returns to his native Ireland. Anyway, the classic scene is at the end of the Movie.
I don't know quite what sets him off, but he starts pulling his wife by the arm, out the door and down the road. He's obviously pulling her somewhere, even dragging her sometimes. She trips, he gets a grip on her collar and just drags her. All the townsfolk are following them because they know there's gonna be a showdown between John Wayne, and his wifes bully of a brother. So Wayne just pulls and drags this woman for five miles to the brothers house. Along the way people are cheering, and one smiling woman even hands him a stick to smack his wife with. The wife is a little shaken, but knows better than to fight it, Wayne is in total control of her, and hell bent on where he's going.
So he gets to the brothers house and demands money owed him. Well the brother slaps his face. So Wayne just tosses his wife back to the brother and says "fine, you keep HER then". So the bully brother thinks about it and then gives Wayne the money, at which point Wayne throws the money in the fire. So then the wife jumps up with a huge smile, and tells Wayne she'll be getting home to get his supper ready and she runs off.
So now Wayne and the bully brother start a good old brawl. They fight over hill and dale, through creeks and hay stacks and all kind of stuff. All the townsfolk, even the priests, are watching, cheering, and taking bets. So anyway they fight for a long time, and then end up in the bar and get drunk. Finally they stagger home together, arm in arm, like lifelong friends. When they get home, Wayne throughs open the door, sits down at the dinner table and tells his wife to hurry up with dinner. Of course she has dinner ready an everything in order. I'll bet the sex was over the top that night.
Well I'll tell you that John Wayne had style, charisma, a true machismo dude. He did'nt need guns and knives, just grit. He's been dead a long time now, but his manhood still survives.
I't got me thinking maybe MY W needs a good ass whoopin! That's a 180 I have'nt tried yet.
No guts no glory,
