In case you didn't see it, they have an extensive photo collection on-line http://www.herringlab.com/photos/. To me, it appears different "looks" imply different chemical makeup, so maybe you could make your own preliminary diagnosis, if interested.

Lou said:"10mm, that is huge considering the anatomy. Toyota's have several 10, 12, and 14 mm nuts and bolts holding the car together. I may never look at another 10mm wrench w/o thinking of you. I worked for the dealership for 10 years so know the older model of cars and trucks well. VW had several 10mm fasteners too."

When it first moved, I fell to the floor, certain someone had stabbed me with a 12" butcher knife. I started screaming. I don't know why, other than screaming made it seem to hurt a little less somehow. It was about 5:30 am. MrsNOP came rushing into the living room of our tiny apartment (I had made it that far, still don't know where I was headed, maybe to the outside door).

I was puking and about to pass out. She called one of my friends (ambulances were about useless back then). He rushed over with another of my friends and the two of them had to carry/drag me down two flights of stairs and into a car. I was barely conscious.

Got to the hospital. They immediately hit me with morphine, got a line into me and then more pain killers and some kind of synthetic adrenalin since I was so "shocky". They managed to do an IVP on me. Looked at it and were talking emergency surgery. I got off the table because I HAD to pee. They didn't want me to go any where, but I ended up with an orderly and one of those IV stands to hold me up, and off to pee I went.

All I remember about passing it (and this is through a morphine/whatever induced haze) was almost falling into a toilet, lots of bright red blood, blood clots and urine. I also remember thinking how mad someone was going to be having to clean that mess up. Oh, and there was that scream thing again. That's when a bunch of people ran in and I passed out.

I woke up hours later, much worse for the wear \:\)

That's about as much of it as I can remember, other than, it hurt.

Hey Corri,

Did you know that they sell this plastic device now that allows girls to pee standing up?

Anyway, did I ever mention my appendectomy while 6 mos. pregnant? My appendix was pushed up into my ribcage so they had to make a 6 inch incision and move my uterus to get at it. They stapled it shut but the baby (D16) kept growing. I tried to refuse morphine for the baby's sake but I couldn't sleep and I started having contractions so they made me take it as the lesser of two evils.

Hi, Fiji.

I did look at the photos. Like I said earlier, it LOOKS to be calcium oxalate, but there is a lot of crystalline structure (ouch) to it, so there is probably something else too.

Hi, Corri.

I hear you and thank you very much for your concern.

I still think I did less damage than they would have. I studied the procedure as well as flow/pain/blockage/damage dynamics.

I could have done the procedure and suffered less, but I wasn't trying to be tough, just practical. Sometimes pain is just a byproduct of a necessary action. That seems to be true medically as well as relationally.

Oh, and didn't you know that car wrecks are bad for you, hard azz Corri? ;\)

NOP I also remember thinking how mad someone was going to be having to clean that mess up.
You too? I almost can't get over "why was I so worried about the mess?" Once I got scraped up bad, just wanted to go home and rinse off with a hose.

All I remember about passing it
Well, that is plenty in my books.

When it first moved, I fell to the floor, certain someone had stabbed me with a 12" butcher knife.
That is a story many would like to hear. Any infection city to deal with, post stabbing?

I got the finger, cussed out. Never was in a place that warranted stabbings. Maybe working so much kept me off the fast and dangerous track. Boring but safe.

I have seen girls do that without plastic, and in a urinal no less. Coed bathrooms were an interesting experiment during the early 70's

I guess the device renders the required result without the practice \:\)
