Interesting story. Did you tell the doc that you had been eating Benadryl? He should have known it can cause enlargement and throw the tests off.
I am like you in leaving doctors out of it if I can fix it myself. I can even do my own stitches.
I do know that the device they wanted to use on me was larger than the stone., especially considering the capture basket. They didn't want to wait over 30 days on the stone to pass, but doing more damage to get it out versus less damage to let nature have a try at it seemed the right way to go, even though it took longer.
I was initially told that the chances of me passing it were slim, less than 20%.
I passed my first stone when I was 21. It was "impossible", at 10mm. Hard to claim impossible when that sucker is sitting in a basket. It did cut me up really badly though, and I almost passed out from the pain. Since then, all of the others have merely been bad. I hope I never experience anything like the first one again.
I heard a good line in a movie once. A crazy doctor was getting ready to cut off a guy's leg, sans anesthesia. The patient was screaming at the doctor about being crazy and he finally yells, "do you know how much that's going to hurt?", and the doctor replies back - "Define pain."

I will ferret out an affair at any opportunity.
-An affair is the embodiment of entitlement, fueled by resentment and lack of respect. -An infidel will remain unreachable so long as their sense of entitlement exceeds their ability to reason.
