Why do these things happen

Well W and I spent the last few hours finishing clearing out our house. It sucked. She said words that made me feel very hopeful, but I do not want to read anything into them, or I would get to excited for my own good. Is it a good thing that while doing this we had a few piles, hers, mine, goodwill, garbage, and a pile she started for "us". It was mainly normal everyday stuff but at the same time really no reason for it.
