he is sooo emotionally aware, it's good to see him protecting himself a bit. I've been trying to deny it, but he's a type 4.

He needs to protect himself when he's out in the world, but he also needs to know that he can be himself inside his family circle with the people he trusts. I know how hard it's been for me as a female to be a 4, so it's got to be a lot harder for a boy/man. Even so, he can't deny who he is, he has to learn to "be" in the world while still being true to himself, and loving himself for who he is.

I understand what you're saying though. S4 is very cautious and definitely not rough and tumble like many boys. Just recently at the playground he was afraid to try something and he called out "Mama!" in a scared voice. An older boy who was waiting behind him said he was a scaredy cat. I told the boy that wasn't nice because S4 is just a little kid, but still. I worry about him getting his azz kicked on the playground. I didn't have to worry about that as a female.
