Choc - hope Oldtimer's analogy helps you see the OM's actual "significance" in the whole thing - it's NOT the main issue. But if you do need to address it, agreed, quick factual statement then let it go.
I can tell you that no matter how much evidence you have, she isn't going to agree it's inappropriate or drop it immediately. I speak from experience on this one. I can pile you up a MOUNTAIN of evidence and in my H's mind it's all knocked down by "but she's just a friend." The same's true for sooo many sitches and, I'm sure, for your W.
