Why do these things happen

Well helping her move out to her new apartment did suck, but probably just because it made it seem more permanant. Overall everyone including myself was in good spirits. I did make one stupid mistake about us though, but her knee-jerk reaction was great. She had to stop by the store and after it was all rang up she asked me to pay for it, which I did. Then after we got in the car I jokingly said that I was moving in with at her apartment on June 1st because I couldn't afford paying for all her stuff.
Her quick response was "it is to soon for that", then she did not say a word the rest of the ride back. I know I shouldn't say things like that, but her response does make me wonder if she is at least rethinking divorce.
