Thanks guys. Nop - no offense about the "beautiful baby" part - babies look pretty much like babies. He didn't get much "molding" and all because his birth was quick. He does smell divine!
DH is crazy busy making up all the work that he accepted for this month since he kept his schedule light during the mid/end of April. He is getting ready for a triathlon in a few weeks. I think he is kind of enjoying me doing a few week "haus frau" stint.
We will be going to a fancy dinner for a Board of Directors that he sits on in a June. I am now only 6 pounds away from goal weight without doing anything. I can do some walking and I am about to do a few seated dumbell exercises so I won't feel like such a slug. The day before the dinner I am going to go find a nice outfit that is kind to a postpartum figure. I might get a pair of really "Do me" heels - always helps keep the focus from the middle!
DH is kind of starting to indicate some sexual interest. He has made a few comments to the baby about "Yeah, I think about nipples a lot too." I am halfway between the idea of letting him continue to wait and just taking the next good opportunity to remind him how good I am at oral.
Thanks for the congrats. In a few weeks when I am cleared for real exercise I may check in with Bf as personal trainer. I am planning on doing lots of core strengthening using the ball when my doctor says ok.
Thanks Chrome. I am REALLY enjoying him. Apparently my hospital photo - with the hospital bracelet prominently featuring my birthday got shown around a friend's office - my age was more the subject of discussion than anything. As in, "Gee, she looks pretty good for 39. Why in the h*ll did she have a baby?" Oh well, naysayers aside, he was worth it - and the extra time to get back into shape too!
Congrats Karen!!! I saw the picture and he is beautiful!!
I too am jealous as I can't have anymore, but 4 boys were enough! Have FUN & RELAX w/your bundle of sweetness there!!
Take Care & Good Luck & Happy Mother's Day!! Kim

Thanks for the check in. I am loving his little self. Babies bring such hope and optimism along with them. He is so much bigger than my others that he is LOUDER too. Whew - he can really belt out a cry. It is so weird - I haven't even had the postpartum weepies. I keep wondering if they will hit eventually.
I have five pounds to my pre-preggo weight and have started to excercise slowly. Actually, due to tending to kids it took an hour to do a twenty minute workout with all the starts and stops. I don't know how much progress I can really make and how much is stretched skin that will never go back but I am determined to try to regain a nice shape.
H and I are totally ships passing in the night as he is working constantly to make up for the unpaid portion of my leave. Blech!

Right, I am just the only man here willing to admit that I wouldn't know a beautiful baby from a sock monkey
There are two types of newborns. Compressed and uncompressed.
I held my daughter while she was still connected umbilically. She wasn't crying, just looking at me and around the room, and I wondered all kinds of things. An hour or so later my grandmother looked at her, then me and announced "Well, there's no denying that one". I was completely lost as to any resemblance
Glad you are back HP. I have missed you.
