Not much time to post or catch up. Joseph Michael arrived after 5 hours of induced labor on 4/28. To my surprise he was a whopping 8 pounds 14 ounces (previous largest child was 6 pounds 11ounces). The labor was good, uneventful and I was able to handle it without any pain meds. He is healthy and gorgeous and is nursing like a fiend (already back up to his birth weight).
A couple of remarkable items - my 15 year old son wanted to be there right away no matter how long it took. He stayed with us in the room (except for pelvics) for the entire labor until transition. He stepped into the hall and we delivered Joseph and right after I was cleaned up he came in to spend time with the baby and I. He was quiet and respectful the entire labor. When a contraction came on, he would just say, "It's ok Mom".
Dh was very good. He knows that I need to concentrate and center myself more than anything. He gave me encouragement but mostly let me breathe and handle myself. He recognized when transition came and made sure that the girls and my parents were on hand so they could see the baby when he came. DD2 jumped up and down with excitement.
As far as sex is concerned.... Hey, I'm already feeling a little interested (not really ready yet but getting there, by six weeks I will be ) AND I am within 10 pounds of my pre-preggo weight. I am thrilled. I can't really exercise yet but can walk around the neighborhood a little. Of course things are a little misshapen and I am looking forward to getting firmed up.
