maybe a day trip would do you good?

did you know that they make chain locks that you can lock with a key from outside when you leave.
I had one on my house when I lived on the military base. I did not want base people in my house when I went away. You never knew who had keys.

maybe that would ease some stress and you won't be afraid to leave.

I went through a stage like that when H was in his D mode in the fall. I was afraid to leave and come home to find he had been there and took things.

can I ask what happened to make the day so bad?
glad you dog is feeling better. We don't do well when our best friends are not feeling well.
