12_51 Good story! I bet it was an eye opener when you saw the site you were on! Seriously, low testosterone may or may not be the issue with me, but at least it gives me some direction and hope. My doc is pretty open minded, so he won't have a problem with ordering tests for me. But if I do need the drug, and end up on a gay website, that's it, I'm throwin' in the towel! (joke!)
If you're depressed you should also check out Lexapro and Wellbutrin. Doc's got me on both and have been for been since last October. It takes a while for it to get into your system and I felt "odd" for a few weeks but much, much better after that.
A few years ago, I try Zoloft. It was not good. I didn't care about anything after taking it.
I was verifying account balances today. We have several joint checking accounts. However, she's primary on one and I'm primary on the others. I called each of our banks and ask what the balance was.
Shortly after I called, the W called me and asked my why I was calling to find out her balance. Someone from the bank called her and told her I had called.
Legally, since my name is on the account I should be able to find out the balance, but it pissed her off.
I told her I was just making a list of balances. I think she's still mad about it.
Too bad if she's mad about it, you have a right to know the balance in that account. All you are doing is protecting your assets. SHE is the one insiting she wants to move on, wants a divorce...it would be foolish of you not to know what's in her account so you can make sure there is an equitable division of assets. If she's angry about it, let her stew. If she asks about it, simply tell her calmly why you needed to know. DON'T try to smooth this over for her.
You have received VERY GOOD advice from NOP - that is what you need to do. Forget about trying to shock her - it won't work. Not the way she is feeling right now
Set your cards out on the table - straight forward. Like NOP said, use the past-tense when talking about your problem. Be confident - its just another business deal (that's the way you have to think of it as - that will keep you calmer)
Good luck

Why is the bank calling your W for you checking the balance in your account? That does not seem like normal bank practice to me. Has your W instructed the bank to notify her of such inquiries? I would be surprised if the bank would agree to such a request as a matter of standard policy. It here was something wrong with you asking for the balance, why did the clerk give you that information on the phone? You might think about calling the bank's branch manager. Something seems fishy.
