Hi all:

If you check out this article (relating to our MLCers and their shadows, projections, etc.), I think you will find it very interesting. A couple of the responses in the "Question/Answer" section also help explain opposite behaviors. The author combines Jung with astrology, but IMO explains the "shadow" concept very well.
