does andropause work for men that way? Hmmm, thinking we could meet in the middle somewhere if that was the case

Well in a negative sense, yes. However, I am hot, she is not, so I prefer to see it as "they don't do it for US anymore."

I think it's more restoring tenfold what has been "given". So we have a whole lot to look forward to now don't we?

Oh it's a feeling alright, AND a choice.

i so wish i could have "do-overs"!
Oh don't we all. I wish we could "do over" the time at the office, the time in front of the fire, the time after swimming, the time on the stairs............. I'm a mad man!

What is it? Jed Diamond defines "Irritable Male Syndrome": A state of hypersensitivity, anxiety, frustration, and anger that occurs in males and is associated with biochemical changes, hormonal fluctuations, stress, and loss of male identity.
IMS is incredibly common. In Men’s Health Magazine, over 10,000 men filled out 2 questionnaires to find – up to 30% of men experience it. Clinical Associate Professor of Urology, Christopher Steidle of the Indiana University School of Medicine says “This is a male version of PMS, or premenstrual syndrome”. Larrian Gillespie, MD, an expert in treating men and women going through hormonal changes, agrees. “Under the circumstances of stress and particular dietary changes, men exhibit symptoms of Irritable Male Syndrome, much like women do with PMS.”
Are You A Man With IMS? Are You Living with an IMS man?
If you’re a man you may be aware that life is more stressful than it should be. At times you may feel that the hassles of life are more than you can take. You think you should be able to handle things, but you sometimes think how nice it would be to get away from it all. You can’t understand why all your efforts to make things better seem to have the opposite effect. You’re tired of feeling that nothing you do is right.
It seems that the people you most rely on are no longer on your side. People at work seem more adversarial than supportive. Old friends may have dropped away or are no longer as close. Your children treat you differently and you may have lost connection and contact. Your wife seems to withdraw from you sexually. Where she used to feel warm and cuddly, she now seems cold and prickly. She seems to nitpick at the smallest thing you do or forget to do. It’s increasingly difficult to relax around her. You feel guarded and protective, but also lonely and misunderstood. You too long to have the kind of relationship where you can relax and enjoy the ease of intimacy you seem to have lost.
Both men and women produce testosterone. The amount produced by women is much smaller and production comes from the adrenal glands. A decline in the testosterone level is associated with decrease in sex drive and libido in both sexes. Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) re-energizes the entire body, increases lean muscle mass, and reverses the fat accumulation and muscular atrophy characteristic of aging. TRT also considerably improves the quality of life in men after middle age. The replacement of testosterone may also
prolong lifespan by reducing the severity of age-associated diseases such as osteoporosis and cardiovascular disease, which are among the leading causes of disability and death.
IMS basically sounds like the result of a SSM. I don't see it as a cange in chemicals, it is a change in his marriage that causes it.
Something interesting I have found out about testosterone, the one sure way to reduce testosterone in men is to have them marry. They have found that after men marry, their teststoerone level drops. However, if they become single again, even years later, their testosterone will jump right back to the level they had as singles. So just the presence of the wife will reduce a mans testsoterone.
Yes, but it is also a known fact that married men live longer than single guys so there's got to be something good about marriage

I post on a forum where 40-60ish guys claim they want more of something. They have a lovely W, sex happens 3X a week, they get and give OS, they have the good job, community respect, etc but are not happy. some don't want a sexual R with their W who is described as almost perfect.
it is a change in his marriage that causes it So there is no single cause for IMS and don't discount age playing a factor in something similar to andropause. Andropause isn't a pause, its a gradual decline.
Cemar change your thinking. Lack-O-nookie is a problem just as a lack of desire is a problem, just as a lack of appreciation is a problem.
i don't get head. If I did, I don't expect BB to swollow. Even what we have or don't have in our M, I work with what I have. Am I thrilled about what we have, No. Am I looking for the magic bullet, No. Am I looking for ways to improve what we have, yes.
Something interesting I have found out about testosterone, the one sure way to reduce testosterone in men is to have them marry. Maybe because they get it milked out of them more often or maybe marrien men don't produce as many killer sperm (sperm that attack other male's sperm) as single guys.
http://members.shaw.ca/tfrisen/chances_of_you_existing.htm Kind of sperm: An average man produces 3 kind of sperm: (1) Killer Sperm constitute about 83% of all the sperm -- these are sperm that attack any sperm from another man that may be in the woman. These sperm carry a lethal dose of poison in their head, seek out foreign sperm and inject it with this poison, killing it. Apparently after a few injections the Killer Sperm has spent all it's energy and also dies.
(2) Blocker Sperm constitute about 16% of all the sperm -- these try to block entrances and storage places so that any sperm from another man cannot reach the woman's egg.
(3) Egg Getter Sperm constitute about1% of all the sperm -- these are the sperm that can possibly fertilize the woman's egg if they ever get there.
So 99% of sperm make war on other men's sperm to annihilate them so that they won't fertilize the woman's egg, and 1% have the potential to fertilize the woman's egg.
There are killer sperm, there are blocker sperm, and there are egg-getter sperm. Number four is family-planning sperm.
Killer sperm kill any sperm from other males found inside the female. Blocker sperm join flagellas (the tails they use to swim) and block any approaching sperm from other men. Egg-getters go for the gold in that great race we call sex. And family-planning sperm (cute name) kill any and all sperm it can find.
Helen Fisher and her research asociates say on: http://www.dhushara.com/paradoxhtm/homo.htm Human males have medium sized testicles and killer sperm consistent with moderate sperm competition, but less than those of the larger ejaculates of promiscuous chimps. As a proportion of body size human testicles are five times the size of gorillas and one third the size of chimpanzees (Ridley R559 21). In the Cosmopolitan survey of 1980 half of married women under 35 had been unfaithful and 70% of those over. Likewise for men sewing wild oats is accepted as natural. Human males are about 10% larger than females consistent with moderate polygynous competition, but not the large harems of gorillas. Men are more aroused by images of males competing for a female than readily available females and produce better sperm after watching such images (.Biology Letters doi:10.1098/rsbl.2005.0324).
That is what some people say but if you believe marriage lowers T, so be it.
